ARCHMEDIUM’S INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS COMPETITION
A NEW INTERPRETATION OF THE IDEA OF THE MONUMENT
SECLUDED, SHY, LONELY AND TALKATIVE
The building has been developed on a very defined area so to create a network and be in harmony with the natural elements, mixing up with them instead of being invasive. The aim of the project is the capability to arouse curiosity around the project itself and to create a comfortable and animated space through the use of natural materials, according to tradition.
Moreover, these materials are similar in type and shape to nature, resulting in a more balanced and exquisite design. The architectural system pretends to be repeated and repeatable and, in fact, crossrefers to the architecture of gothic churches and their steeples and bell towers, here represented by trees.
This is a contemporary architectonic approach which aims at a rich simplicity.
The result is a path that has been developed in length, full of spirituality and enriched with an expositive gallery, a newspaper library, an information point and a location suitable for any kind of cultural event the town wants to support. This path is designed for the flow of pedestrians and it paves the way to a garden. There are no gates to the road but only to the garden, giving shape to a sort of wall that sets the city outside. The pavilion bears resemblance to a wall that encircles a small garden. The picture window covers the side facing the garden, allowing the view of all the exhibited artworks to the audience seated in the garden.
SOME THINGS ARE INSIDE THE PLACE, THERE IS A POWER THAT SAYS THAT IT IS TO BE DONE THIS WAY
